A Tailored Approach to Therapy

I’m fully qualified and insured and have been practising since 2007.

I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). The majority of my work draws on Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioural, and EMDR principles, and I integrate these approaches to tailor sessions to best meet the individual needs of each client.

My aim is to help you to achieve your goals in the shortest time possible, working at the root of the problem to produce long lasting change.

My Story

I’m Maria Munir, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and EMDR Therapist with 20 years of experience helping individuals overcome trauma, anxiety, and loss. My approach integrates CBT, Humanistic, and EMDR therapy to create a safe, supportive space for healing and growth.

My Qualification

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the HCPC and accredited by the BPS with Associate Fellowship (AFBPsS). I completed my postgraduate training in Counselling Psychology at City University London, graduating with full chartership as a Psychologist in 2007.

I have 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health in both the NHS (primary and secondary care mental health services including IAPT) and privately – working in the community with people from all walks of life.
